2012 Audi Q3 - First facts about the X1 compact competitors
The Audi Q3 is at the Auto Shanghai (21 to 28 April 2011) first presented to the world public. To date there are no official pictures of the new compact SUV, but Audi has already released the first sketches and reveal some details.
The SUV, which competes against competitors like the BMW X1, 4.39 meters long, 1.60 meters high and 1.83 meters wide. The dimensions are roughly similar to the Cross Coupé quattro study, which was introduced in 2007, also in Shanghai for the first time. The Q3 is offered with a pure front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, the 4x4-driving controls a Haldex clutch.
To start, four four-cylinder engines - two petrol and two diesel - ready. Various technologies such as a start-stop system, brake energy recovery or Themo management should be a minor consumption. In the fall of 2011, the Q3 will come on the market, prices could start at 30,000 euros. There is detailed information on the Q3 is only to show in Shanghai.
